Robbie: Team has belief

30th November 2021

Robbie Neilson wants his players to take the belief from inside the dressing room out onto the Celtic Park pitch on Thursday night.

The Jambos take on Celtic this midweek in Glasgow, fresh off the back of a return to winning ways after last weekend’s 2-0 victory over St Mirren.

Having already locked horns with Celtic twice this season, the manager is well aware of the dangers that they pose, but he feels his side can be confident and play their brand of football in Glasgow’s east end.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Robbie said: “Definitely, we can go there with confidence. We’ve got a good team here.

“We have belief in the team and we have to go and take that out onto the pitch and that’s what we’ll try and do on Thursday night.

“They’ve got good players, there is no doubting it. You look at internationals right through their team. They’re going to be a good team.

“We played them at the start of the season and they were just starting to develop how they want to play and it’s a bit more consistent now.

“The last time we struggled to get any pressure on them, especially in the first half. We got kind of dominated but in the second half we changed it and got more pressure and we were more in the game, and managed to score a couple of goals.

“For us it’s, we’re off the back of a good result last week and we’ve got the chance to now go and implement our game plan on the game at Parkhead.”
