New Community Club Development Officer

11th August 2017

New role will see Hearts support the development of grassroots clubs

Heart of Midlothian Football Club is delighted to welcome Liam Duncan on board as the club’s new Community Club Development Officer.

Liam will work in the Community Coaching & Football Development Department and will be tasked with creating and delivering resources which will assist and support local grassroots clubs. The grassroots development programme will look to encourage a shift in thinking amongst football clubs and coaches, with the emphasis on getting more children playing more football more often.

Hearts have already developed and promoted a very successful Street Football resource in recent months, and the principles of Street Football will play an important part in the delivery of forthcoming programmes and initiatives.

As part of this new role, Liam will also work closely with grassroots clubs, leaders and coaches to further develop the relationship between themselves and the Hearts Youth Academy.

Speaking about his new role, Liam said: “I am absolutely delighted to join Hearts and work on what will be a fantastic development programme for grassroots players, coaches and clubs in Edinburgh.

“We want to be really ambitious with this programme, and aim to help local clubs make the best of the resources available to them. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for grassroots football across the region, and I am really looking forward to getting started.”
