Jambos in international action

05 September 2025

Five Jambos will be hoping to pull on their countries’ jerseys this weekend as the international period kicks in to full gear.

Scotland face Denmark in Copenhagen this evening in their first World Cup qualifier. Zander Clark is part of Steve Clarke’s squad and looking to win his fifth cap. If it doesn’t come tonight, then it could in three days’ time when Scotland travel to Hungary to face Belarus in their second Group C game.

Sticking with Scotland, Liam McFarlane and James Wilson are in Czechia for the U21s’ Euro 2027 qualifier. The duo may also feature when Scotland host Portugal at Fir Park on Monday.

Further afield, Landry Kabore is away with Burkina Faso. They face Djibouti away from home today at 5pm in World Cup qualifying, before hosting Egypt in four days’ time. Burkina Faso currently sit second in Group A, five points behind Egypt and in with a chance of advancing through to a second qualifying round.

Finally, Keneth Vargas and Costa Rica are in action in the wee hours tomorrow, taking on Nicaragua as they start the third round of CONCACAF qualifying for the World Cup. Monday sees them host Haiti.
