Foundation Tribute Jersey unveiled

18th September 2015

Brand new third kit launches with pre-orders available from 9am today.

Heart of Midlothian is delighted to unveil the Foundation Tribute Jersey; the brand new official third kit, which proudly bears the names of thousands of Foundation of Hearts pledgers.

The jersey, launched in association with the Foundation of Hearts, features the names of every pledger who reached the required FoH fan reward threshold in February.

The shirt will be available for pre-order from 9am today and is expected to be in high demand, with supporters urged to get their orders in early in order to avoid disappointment. The shirts will be in-store from 15th November 2015.

Despite increased production costs, the shirts are priced at £45 - the same price as the club’s home and away jerseys. Shirts can be ordered online at heartsdirect.co.uk or in person at the Hearts Club Store on McLeod Street, where fans are welcome to come in for a close-up look of the new shirt.

The first ten fans to place their order will be presented with their strips in front of the Tynecastle crowd at a home fixture in November.

Fans who order on or before 15th October 2015 will be issued with a signed certificate and be entered into a competition to play for the Hearts Legends team. Three lucky winners will be given the chance to line up next to some Hearts heroes from yesteryear.

Chairwoman Ann Budge said “Everyone here at the club, who has been involved in producing this amazing shirt, is thrilled with the final product.  This has been another real team effort between the club and FOH and we were delighted to work together to produce something which truly recognises the contribution made by the pledgers.  This is a real win, win, win!”

Foundation of Hearts chairman Brian Cormack said: “This is an immensely proud and emotional moment for everyone associated with the Foundation of Hearts, and we are absolutely delighted to see this project come to fruition.

“This shirt does not just feature a list of fans’ names; it pays fitting tribute to the 8,000 and more supporters who have together saved this great club.”

The complicated production process of this unique jersey meant the manual checking of over 8,000 names on fabric and on computer screens many times and it is perhaps inevitable there may be a slight hiccup somewhere on the shirt. However, we believe the upside of such a tribute will outweigh any such hiccups as the shirt looks fantastic. Those whose names fall behind the club crest or puma logo will find that their names are repeated on another part of the jersey.

All the featured names were supplied to the manufacturer by the Foundation of Hearts. Any queries or concerns regarding any names should be directed to the Foundation of Hearts.
