Derek McInnes remains hopeful that Beni Baningime and Calem Nieuwenhof could be involved in the matchday squad for Sunday’s visit of Rangers.
The Aussie did some work on the grass today (Wednesday) with Baningime expected to join Friday’s training session.
Speaking to the media ahead of Sunday’s match, McInnes said:
“Beni Baningime and Calem Nieuwenhof are both close to being available for the weekend. Beni is one that we're hoping to try and get him on the training pitch on Friday. Calem done a wee bit today [Wednesday] and if there's no reaction to that, he can maybe do a bit more tomorrow and then see where he's at as well. It’s great to have both boys there and thereabouts.”
McInnes added that Ageu will return to the club following a spell in Portugal for treatment.
“Ageu flew back from Portugal on Friday after being out there for three weeks and young Finlay Pollock's been on the grass running as well so trying to make a wee bit of headway with that.”
