Stu's high standards

11 December 2025

Stuart Findlay is determined to hold on to that winning feeling after enjoying so much of it already this season.

The big defender was a colossus at the back, alongside his defensive teammates, as the Jambos recorded a deserved victory at Celtic Park last weekend, making it back-to-back wins over Celtic this season.

Keen to continue giving the fans those special moments, Stuart believes setting such high standards can only be a good thing and knows the onus is on the boys in maroon to meet them when they face Falkirk on Saturday night.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said; “Tell the fans that they just hope to win games and they'll tell you that's not the case.

“You come to a club and you don't realise until you come to a club what the culture is like, what people expect. It's a good thing to be involved in.

“It's good to have the standards to try and meet. As I said, the boys have done an exceptional job this season to meet them to the level that they have.

“But it means nothing if you don't keep going and keep winning as many games of football as you can.

“We know how big a win it (Celtic) was for us, not just in terms of the league but in terms of getting us back onto the track we want to be on. Now it's just important we make sure we tie that into Falkirk.

“There's no point in winning that game against Celtic and then not following up with a really good performance, which is going to be a very testing venue for us.

“But no matter what game you're going into, Celtic at Celtic Park or maybe a ‘run of the mill’ home game, Hearts fans expect performances, Hearts fans expect victories and we've tried to give them that as much as possible.”
