Match Report: Falkirk 0-2 Hearts

13 December 2025

Hearts defeated Falkirk 2-0 at the Falkirk Stadium to secure three more valuable Premiership points.

Claudio Braga struck after 66 seconds to put the Jambos on their way, with Falkirk putting up fierce resistance.

Later on in the second half; Stephen Kingsley notched a screamer from distance to wrap up the scoring, and the points, for the boys in maroon.

Derek McInnes stuck with a winning formula at the Falkirk Stadium, with no changes to the side that toppled Celtic 2-1 at Parkhead from last week's victory in the east end of Glasgow.

It was a pitch perfect start to proceedings, with the Jambos opening the scoring after an incredible 25 seconds. Good pressing from Hearts saw the ball worked to Lawrence Shankland in shooting distance at the edge of the box.

The skipper's spectacular strike clipped the underside of the crossbar and back into play, with Claudio Braga leaping like a salmon to meet it on the rebound and send a thumping header beyond the reach of Scott Bain.

Hearts, with the bit between their teeth, almost landed a sucker punch on the Bairns after 11 minutes; Michael Steinwender seeing another great header flash inches wide of the near post.

Falkirk, to their credit, were as open and expansive as the last time the two sides met at Tynecastle in the summer; with Alex Schwolow making his first save of the evening after 16 minutes to hold a deflected Calvin Miller effort.

Naturally, things settled down after a whirlwind start, but Falkirk very nearly grabbed an equaliser on the half hour mark - Sam Hart steering a header wide of the near post following a dangerous cross from Henry Cartwright.

With five minutes to go before the break; Falkirk threatened twice to give Hearts a real scare.

Filip Lissah was first: drilling a vicious strike just past the post after dispossessing the Jambos on the edge of the box.

The first half was then saved by Harry Milne, the defender coming to the rescue with a clearance off the line after Kyrell Wilson had rounded Schwolow and looked certain to score the equaliser.

HT: Falkirk 0-1 Heart of Midlothian

After a lethargic start to the second 45, Hearts almost had their second after 57 minutes. Harry Milne's corner was met by Braga with a diving header, but his flick towards goal was tipped away by a good save from Scott Bain.

It was still even stevens, and a foul by Oisin McEntee against Alfredo Agyeman paved the way for Calvin Miller to have a pop at goal from a free-kick right inside the box; his effort diverted away from danger by Agyeman, ironically.

74 minutes saw Stephen Kingsley introduced to proceedings off the bench, and the stalwart's impact was immediate.

On the pitch for just two minutes by then, he was in the perfect position to receive McEntee's headed knock-down - taking a perfect first touch before drilling a glorious strike into the net from distance.

The maroon section behind the goals exploded with celebration, with Hearts sliding into cruise control from there towards three points.
