Daniel Stendel hopes his players call upon their recent success over Rangers in order to secure a morale-boosting Scottish Cup win on Saturday.
The Jambos host the Ibrox side this weekend in the last eight of the competition, yet it wasn’t so long ago when the two sides met on league duty.
Daniel’s men in maroon came from a goal down to clinch a richly deserved 2-1 win, courtesy of Steven Naismith and Liam Boyce goals.
The manager is looking for a repeat performance on Saturday and believes a win can help raise confidence around Tynecastle.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Daniel said: “It’s another game. Rangers will be more focused for this game. The cup is, every time, a good chance for everyone to win a title.
“For us it’s important that we know we can win, that we play at Tynecastle and that we have the support that we need against Rangers. In our situation every game is important. We want to try to win this game on Saturday.
“The difference is this is a cup game and it doesn’t change our situation in the league, but it can give us a positive lift for the next couple of games. We need better results and the best is that we start on Saturday.
“We want to play a good game, we want to win this game. All that we do in training is good. The motivation is good, the training is good but the one and only (thing) that changes (things) is better results and we need better results.
“For us, in our situation, it’s a game that we want to win. It's a big chance to have positive thoughts in our head for all what we do in this season. The league gives us not so much positive thoughts but the cup is a big chance.
“We are focused on this game on Saturday. Rangers are one of the biggest teams but we beat them three weeks ago, and why not again?”
