Orla Burn signs first professional contract

02 February 2026

We are delighted to announce that Orla Burn has signed her first professional contract with the club until 2028, subject to SFA approval.

Having joined the Hearts Academy at the age of 9, Orla has made her way through the age groups, enjoying lots of success in maroon, including winning a treble with the U16s girls’ team in recent years.

Having spent the first half of this season on loan at Motherwell, Orla now returns to the club to sign her first professional contract and follows in the footsteps of her older brother Gregor, who is part of our U19s boys’ group.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:

“Firstly, I’d like to congratulate Orla on her first professional contract with the club. For any player, this is a momentous day, and Orla deserves it so much for her hard work and dedication.

“To have another Academy graduate progress through to the first team, highlights all the great work within the Hearts Academy and its importance. It is vital to have that pathway and to give opportunities to our talented young players.

“For a player so young, Orla has shown a great desire to learn and work so hard, both with and without the ball and I look forward to working with her in the future.”
