Kio ready to make Tynie bow

30 September 2022

The Ibrox side are in town at the weekend in the lunchtime kick-off, as the Jambos resume business in the cinch Premiership after the international break.

Kio was able to make his long-awaited debut for the club against Motherwell at Fir Park, coming off the bench to make an impressive cameo in a 3-0 win.

The German midfielder says how excited he is at the prospect of making his bow in front of the support in Gorgie should he be selected.

“It’s been really good so far,” he told the press in his pre-match media conference.

“I was told it always rains here, but so far it’s only been sun! It was good to make my debut and a victory and clean sheet made it even better. The football here is slightly different, a little faster, but I felt I did ok in my 15 minutes. We got the three points which was the most important thing.

“The few weeks I had before I could play were useful; I know all the names now. I’m for sure looking forward to Saturday; my first home match. I’ve been to the stadium a few times now, but only to visit and never on the pitch.

“Everyone wants to play against the good teams, and Rangers are one of the best in the league. We’re at home, so I think we have a good chance to try and win the game. They have to come to us.

“I see the supporters screaming for every tackle, every ball won. I’m really looking forward to feeling that for myself on the pitch."
