Gino's backing the boys

The Latvians come to Gorgie looking to pick up vital points with the race for qualification from Group A still wide open.

The boys in maroon have already recorded one victory over RFS already this season, winning 2-0 in Riga back in September. Whilst recent results haven’t gone Hearts’ way, the forward is confident the Jambos can slam back into full form.

“First of all, I think it’s a huge achievement for us to be in Europe,” he told the media in his pre-match press conference. “It’s a big thing for the club to be playing and competing at this level. We’ve obviously had some disappointing results, but we got a fantastic result over in Latvia.

“RFS have managed to go up against two of the biggest sides in the group and earn a draw – which deserves massive respect. Tomorrow night, they’ll come here, and they’ll be rightly backing themselves. That said, we’re backing ourselves too.

“You have to perform when you play for Hearts; you need to go out and do your thing no matter if it’s in the league or in the biggest competitions in Europe. We’ll need the fans behind us. Things are going to turn for us – I believe in this team 100%.”
