Eva: We got our identity back

04 January 2023

A penalty from Ciara Grant was followed up by a neat finish from Emma Brownlie and as results elsewhere went in their favour, Hearts moved five points clear in fourth spot.

“The main objective for us tonight was to get back to our identity and play a possession game," Olid explained.

"If we scored more it would have been better of course but the main objective was the good performance.

“We had an honest conversation yesterday. The style of play we played on Sunday didn’t represent us, so we wanted a reaction in the style of play. The first half was perfect. We were controlling and not forcing it."

The result also secures top six football for Hearts when the league splits next week.

“That was our pre-season objective, so that is very positive, because now I feel we can relax a little because there is a little less pressure on us and that is when I feel the players play their best," she added.

However, with a five point lead in fourth spot, Hearts are now determined to secure that.

“That is something we didn’t expect at the start of the season. Now, it is possible, so we have to try to win every week to achieve that."
