Alex: We're Sticking Together

21 October 2022

The defender pinpointed some of the key things required to overcome the Hoops in Gorgie, with three precious points up for grabs.

With several games against Celtic under his belt from his time in Scotland, Alex hopes it will stand the Jambos in good stead ahead of kick-off in the capital tomorrow lunchtime.

“The constant games have presented challenges,” he told the press in his pre-match media conference. “Results haven’t been what we wanted, so it’s important to bounce back quickly. We know about injuries in key positions, but we know there’s enough quality in the team to take results like last Sunday.

“Against Celtic, we need to be defensively strong. There’s been a few goals we’ve conceded that have been cheap. We need to be at it from the start. If you begin with a strong defensive showing, you can build it up from there. We’ve got talent to go forward and hurt teams so we need to go and do that.

“From past experience; if you give them a sniff, or a chance, they will punish you. We can’t afford to give them any easy chances. With Tynecastle behind us, we need to go 100% right from the start.

“That’s what we want – a rocking Tynecastle. We’ve got a talented group of players and we won’t let our heads drop."
