Kingsley: We're up to the challenge

16 December 2022

The defender is available once again to manager Robbie Neilson after a spell on the side-lines that saw him sat in the stands since picking up an injury against RFS back in October. Now, with the problem behind him, Stephen hopes that the worst is dealt with as he looks to slam back into top form for the Jambos.

“It’s been good getting some time off, some time to reflect,” he told the press ahead of the Kilmarnock match. “It came at a good time for us and all the boys are ready and raring to go for tomorrow. It was obviously frustrating picking up that injury against RFS but after lots of training and being away with the boys in Spain, I feel ready.”

“I don’t think it’s going to happen just because we’ve got players back. They’re back but we need to address the problems that we saw in the first part of the season. Just because some are returning from injury doesn’t mean we’re going to go on a run. We really need to put the work in now to get the results. I’ve got confidence in the boys to stand up to the challenges that are ahead.

“I’m comfortable playing anywhere: I played much of last season the left of a back three, but I’m still a left-back naturally. I don’t have a problem playing anywhere; I feel I can always go and do a job."
