Heart of Midlothian is delighted to announce the appointment of Eva Olid as the new manager of Hearts Women.
Eva, a UEFA Pro Licence holder, joins Hearts - subject to work permit and visa approval - having gained vast coaching experience in her native Spain and in the United States.
A former player, Eva began her coaching journey as Saint Quirze FC’s head coach in 2011, before spells as head coach at Sant Cugat FC and Sabadell FC.
In 2019 Eva moved stateside, becoming assistant coach with Louisiana Krewe’s men’s team and then head coach for Houston Dynamo’s women’s side.
A return to Europe followed in 2020, and with it the head coach role at the Catalan Football Association, where Eva spent 14 months.
She now makes the move to Edinburgh to lead Hearts Women into their 2021/22 SWPL campaign.
Speaking about the appointment, Sporting Director Joe Savage said: “I’m delighted to welcome Eva on board.
“We had lots of impressive applications for the role but Eva’s was the one that instantly stood out.
“She has a great pedigree and lots of experience, and she is also really passionate about the game.
“It’s an exciting appointment. In Eva, Hearts Women are getting a top operator and our players are, I’m certain, going to benefit massively not only from having a UEFA Pro Licence holder as their manager, but from Eva’s enthusiasm and the methods she will put into practice.”
Academy Manager, Roger Arnott, said: “Eva was the standout candidate in a strong field.
“Her knowledge of the game is impressive and she has held some high profile positions in Europe and America.
“Hearts Women have come a long way in a short space of time and with Eva joining, we’re confident that we can continue to progress even further.”
