Ypema pens extension

23 May 2025

The club is delighted to announce that Danique Ypema has penned a one-year contract extension.

The central defender who arrived in January on an initial six-month contract, after leaving Feyenoord, has featured on 11 occasions for the Jambos and the 25-year-old has now signed up for the new season.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:

"Since arriving in January, Danique has brought a real calmness and quality to our backline. She reads the game exceptionally well and fits perfectly with our philosophy of playing out from the back. Her leadership and technical ability are key for where we want to go as a team and I'm really pleased that she'll be staying at the club."

Women’s Head of Recruitment Sean Burt added:

"It's never easy to come into a group midway through a season, but Danique settled in very quickly and her performances have been very consistent. She’s a smart, technical player who brings a calm presence at the back. We’re happy to have her on board for another year and we look forward to seeing her development continuing with the group."
