What makes a footballer a hero? What makes a hero a legend? Locality? Loyalty?

Players like Bobby Walker come around once in a generation. From an Edinburgh boy having kickabouts in Gorgie, to a Heart of Midlothian star and the most capped Scotland international of the time. This is his remarkable story... and his mother's. Performed with live music where the first King of Hearts reigned; Tynecastle Park.

Two Halves Productions was formed in 2023 by Paul Beeson and Bruce Strachan, two of the founding members of the award-winning theatre company This Is My Story Productions.

Paul and Bruce return for their fifth Edinburgh Festival Fringe with brand new show Never Trouble Trouble (Till Trouble Troubles You). The third collaboration from this acclaimed duo and Hearts Heritage tells the story of Heart of Midlothian legend Bobby Walker. The play will premiere in the intimate setting of the Hearts Museum at Tynecastle Park and looks to build on the award-winning success of their previous productions A War of Two Halves and Sweet FA. The company are excited to be performing once again at the most iconic venue in the Fringe as the football club enters its 150th year.

Heart of Midlothian Football Club once again welcomes audiences to Tynecastle Park! We are delighted to be once again hosting the team at Two Halves Productions as they bring to life, another important historical piece from the Hearts' history. The influence Bobby Walker had on the game, the Club and the fans, was extremely significant and his legacy lives on. I've no doubt this last instalment in the triptych of historical pieces will be just as much a success as the first two. 5-star reviews all round!
Lianne Parry - Head of Heritage, Heart of Midlothian Football Club

I would encourage anyone, not just Hearts fans to come along and see what Two Halves Productions have in store for us this year. The last two plays have been outstanding, telling the brilliant story about Hearts’ bravest team and McCrae’s Battalion and the struggles and issues that women had in trying to play our beautiful game many years ago. Both fascinating stories and which gave the opportunity to see behind the scenes at our magnificent stadium. This story will be equally superb, as it is about the great Bobby Walker, one of Hearts finest ever players. Scorer of many goals, especially against our biggest rivals. Bobby went on to be a Director at the club and a Scotland legend. Can’t wait to see what’s in store!
