Thomson joins Jambos
12 July 2025We are pleased to announce the signing of talented, young goalkeeper Emma Thomson who joins us on a deal until 2027 from Spartans.
The 17-year-old began her SWPL career at Hamilton where she featured on 15 occasions and picked up the SWPL Player of the Month trophy, before switching to Spartans the following season.
During her time at Ainslie Park, Thomson continued her development for Jack Beasley’s side, featuring nine times and gaining valuable experience against top opposition.
As well as her exploits at club level, the stopper has also been capped for Scotland at both U17 and U16 level and now makes the move to the Jambos to continue her development.
Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:
"We’re really pleased to bring Emma in. She’s a young goalkeeper with good experience already, and we see a lot of potential in her. This is a chance for her to keep learning and developing in a full-time environment, and we’re looking forward to helping her take the next steps."
Women’s Head of Recruitment Sean Burt added:
"Emma’s someone we’ve been aware of for a while. She’s played senior minutes at a young age and shown a lot of promise. This move gives her the platform to grow in the right setting, and we’re glad to have her in the building."
