Stu: Time to push on
09 April 2026Stuart Findlay says he’s ready to make his return to action and help the Jambos kick on over the final six matches of the season.
The defender has missed the last four matches through a calf injury, but is now ready to return and play his part in the run in.
Speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference, Findlay said:
“It wasn’t a great time to get injured, with so many important games coming up. I started to feel for the fans a bit because it's a lot more nerve-wracking watching the games than it is when you're actually playing them. But the boys have done well. We're still in a position where we wanted to be at this stage.
“Hopefully, I can come back now at a good time and help the guys push on for the last six games. You're a bad spectator, but you're still hitting every ball.
“There's going to be some bumps along the roads. Being up this end of the table, nobody ever said it was going to be straightforward. So, we understand that there's going to be blips on the way. As I say, we've still got a position we’d have been more than happy to be in at the start of the season.
“We understand that at the start of the season, we were the disruptive noise around the place, that everybody expected to fall away. But we've had an inner belief that we had targets to set at the start of the season, and obviously we're on track to probably do what we wanted to achieve this year.
“We're now in a special situation, which we understand we've not been in, but I do quite enjoy there's still a little bit of anticipation for us to sort of not go all the way, and I understand why people would think that, but the best way that we can get our heads around it is what I've said, is we have to just look at it as the next game.
“We can't look at what could be, what might not be, because you're going to get yourself tied up in knots when you do that. We've got our next game against Motherwell, which we know is going to be a tough test. We know we need to bounce back from the game we had against Livingston.
“We all have one goal. We're all singing from the same hymn sheet, and we have to just make sure that we use all that. As I said, the cliche we've stuck to for the first 31 games, each game as it comes, and we're getting to the point there's not many much more of them to come, but we just have to keep doing what we've been doing, and as I said, hopefully end it in a special season for us.”
