Shore excited to join Hearts’ journey

27 June 2024

Eilidh Shore admits she’s excited to now be a part of Hearts’ journey under Eva Olid having previously been an admirer from afar.

The central midfielder is Olid’s second summer signing, having followed her teammate Bayley Hutchison down to the capital from Aberdeen, where she spent the last five years.

It’s an exciting time for the Jambos, who continue to go from strength to strength under the Spaniard’s leadership. Last season saw Hearts achieve a second consecutive fourth place finish in the SWPL as well as reaching a first ever Scottish Cup Final and Shore is already excited for what lies ahead.

Speaking to Hearts TV, Shore said: “It feels amazing. I’m really happy to get this over the line and I’m just very excited for the season ahead.

“After a few chats with the club and with Eva, this just felt like the right move. I’ve seen the progress that Hearts have made over the last few years, so I think this is somewhere that I can really continue my development.

“I’ve been hugely impressed by Hearts. Since Eva came in, you can see the progression and the improvements that have been made. You can see some of the quality signings that have been made, so for me to now be a part of that is very exciting.

“The belief that Eva puts in the players, I’m still quite a young player, so for me to see some of the young players that have come through here at Hearts and the trust that she puts in them is really positive.

“The style of play that Hearts have been playing is also really positive and it’s just another thing I’m really excited to be a part of.”
