Robbie: We'll reap the benefits of Spanish camp

01 December 2022

The Jambos are in the south of the country for a week long excursion – long days on the pitch, combined with friendly matches, can hopefully provide the Maroons a boost following the World Cup break.

With a number of players closing in on a return to the fray, the manager knows this camp has come at an ideal time.

“It was great. We travelled earlier this morning so today was quite a light session. It’s good to get out here; the weather’s been great and the pitch is excellent. Hopefully we’ll have a good week,” he told Hearts TV.

“The boys are excited to be back and we’ve got a few young lads along too so they bring their energy which is great. We’ve got a few games lined up which is really good for us.

“We came here in the summer and it was great. It’s a great set-up and we’re very pleased with it. It’s all about getting back to where we were last season. What with the number of injuries we’ve had, it took us away from our regular formation.

“Now that the majority of them are coming back, we’re in a good place.”
