Robbie: It's bitterly disappointing

The Jambos went ahead in Ayrshire thanks to an early strike from Lawrence Shankland, but goals from Dan Armstrong and Christian Doidge saw Killie take all three points.

“It’s bitterly disappointing,” he said. It’s not good enough for this football club. We brought an unbelievable support down here today and in my opinion, we were weak and we got bullied. That is unacceptable at this football club, so we can only apologise. I know we said it last time, but the only way we can rectify it is to get better on the pitch next week.

“I thought we started well and we got the goal, but we need to show strength when we suffer a setback. We lose a goal and after that, we need to show some resilience, but I just felt too many of us went into our shells.”

Neilson provided an update on Zander Clark, who was replaced by Ross Stewart at half-time:

“It was just a tweak of the hamstring. We will see how it settles down. Obviously, that would be a big loss for us, so we’ll see if he’s ready for next week.”
