Pete delighted to be back

22 April 2023

Speaking to HeartsTV at full-time, Haring said:

“I’m delighted to finally be back in the starting 11. I think for us all as a team, it was a big relief today, to put on a good performance and get the win. Personally, I feel really good, but the most important thing was the win.

“There was pressure on us, but most of it came from inside because obviously things have not been good enough in the past few weeks, but today was a good way to respond with the crowd behind us, I think that helped us a lot today.

“We started on the front foot and put them under a lot of pressure. The goals came quickly, which I think helped us, but we very much deserved to win.

“Every week is different, but at home, against any team, we want to be on the front foot and aggressive, in and out of possession, and that was very much the message ahead of this one."

The Jambos now have a weekend off, before the split begins in a fortnight and Haring is hopeful that Hearts can continue where they left off, as they battle it out for third place in the cinch Premiership.

“I’d rather have a game next week, but we take the break and go into the last five games fresh and hopefully continue on from today.”
