Orestis: I want to help the team

28 August 2022

The German midfielder put pen to paper on a three-year deal after the club agreed an undisclosed fee with Dutch side Heracles Almelo, and “Kio” will take in today’s cinch Premiership encounter with St. Johnstone at Tynecastle as we await confirmation of his VISA.

“I’m very happy to be here, I’ve had a very nice welcome already and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead,” he told Hearts TV.

“Yeah, for sure, I’ll be absolutely ready. Today, I’m going to watch the St. Johnstone game and I hope, of course, we win. I really look forward to being a part of this amazing club and I will give everything.

“I am very difficult; I run, I tackle, I get around the pitch and help my teammates. I really hope I can help the team. For me, it was time after three years in Holland. I think it was time to make the next step and I was ready for it.

“Especially with the challenge of playing European football. I think it’s going to good to help test and improve myself. I’m ready for this.

“I was looking around the stadium with Joe, and I thought ‘Wow!’.  It’s a nice, big stadium and I’m really looking forward to seeing my first game today.

“Every player wants to test and prove themselves. I want to help the team.”
