North on Wee Jambos' victory at Celtic

28 September 2025

Match-winner Tommy North said Hearts B were deserving of their 1-0 away victory over Celtic B on Saturday.

The attacker dispatched his penalty in the 71st minute to help seal all three points in Airdrie.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website at full-time, North said:

“I thought it was a good performance, the team was in control for most of the game. There were a few dodgy spells in the match but after our red card, we had a good 10-minute spell, and then we got the goal and it sealed the game.

“We were all over them for the rest of the game, and that was the same in the first half, which is good.”

North said he was pleased that his side secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

“The confidence is high as we’re four games unbeaten now, and it’s the first time in ages. There’s a good feeling around the club right now.”

The striker has thrived in a maroon jersey since making the switch from Livingston in the summer, and will look to continue his rich vein of form in the coming games.

North looked ahead to the B team’s next match at home against Bonnyrigg Rose next Friday night at The Vanloq Community Stadium- Ainslie Park.

“I'll do my best to try and get goals, hopefully more than one, and to try and get our other strikers goals as well. Hopefully we can just finish our chances and then go from there.”
