No getting carried away, says Robbie

The men in maroon head along the M8 to Paisley on Saturday off the back of two wins on the spin – including an excellent 3-0 triumph in the Edinburgh derby against Hibs. Stephen Robinson’s Saints are the next test with the Buddies sitting just five points off Hearts in the cinch Premiership table.

Whilst all of a maroon persuasion enjoyed Monday's thrilling derby match, the boss spoke of the importance of taking each game one at a time.

“I was delighted with the derby, especially the first half,” he said. “I’m saying the same thing every week though; we’re not getting carried away with one performance. We’ve got a game on Saturday and we need to win it.

“We’re going to a difficult place against a team which is doing really well at the moment. It’s a big one and we just need to keep winning and winning. We want to be challenging near the top of the league. We’re in third at the moment and I said that if we made it to the World Cup break in third, we’ll have done very well.”

Australia forward Gurang Kuol was at Oriam this morning to see Hearts’ facilities. The Newcastle United man is a potential loan option this January, but Robbie underlined the fact that no deal had struck yet.

“We’ve had him up,” he confirmed. “He’s a player that we’re definitely interested in and we’ve had him in for a look around the place. There are a number of clubs that are interested in because he’s a great prospect. With a number of potential suitors, we’ll wait and see where it goes.”
