Naismith: A Good Days Work

27 April 2024

Steven Naismith praised his side’s strength at Rugby Park as Hearts picked up a point in the first post-split game against Kilmarnock.

Both sides settled for a share of the spoils in Ayrshire, and the boss reckons the Jambos can be pleased with their work.

“Overall, it was pleasing,” he told Hearts TV.

“The only thing that was missing was the goals. We played well with loads of control and attacking threat. The woodwork and defending stopped us from going in front.

“Naturally against Kilmarnock, we had to defend at times too. I’m happy with the manner of the performance. Our energy today was great and today chops another game off. Kilmarnock can cause a lot of problems on the surface and we defended well.

“I don’t think anyone disappointed today and can be satisfied with their days’ work.

“Outside the Old Firm, there’s not a tougher place to play. They’ve got good experience and good wide players. Every time we played them, we’ve matched them and carried a threat, we can be pleased with that.”
