
Match Report: Rangers Women 2-2 Hearts Women
24 August 2025Eilidh Shore’s 88th minute strike earned Hearts a hard-earned point in their 2-2 draw against Rangers at Ibrox Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The women in maroon found themselves 1-0 up at half-time with a stunning strike from Sade Adamolekun, before Katie Wilkinson scored a quick fire double in the second half to put the hosts ahead.
Eva Olid made a single change from the opening day defeat against Celtic last Sunday.
Erin Husband came in to replace Danique Ypema in defence for Hearts.
Hearts had a positive opening 20 minutes to the game as they looked to get on the front foot while staying calm in possession.
The Jambos had their first shot on target of the afternoon in the 3rd minute as skipper Eilidh Shore had a pop from distance, but it was a comfortable take for Rangers goalkeeper Jenna Fife.
In the 10th minute, Lauren Wade whipped in a great cross from the left wing which found striker Georgia Timms as she attempted a first time volley on her right foot, but her effort sailed over the bar.
Timms had another half chance in the 19th minute. Lauren Wade sent in the free kick from the centre circle into the box, which found Timms free at the back post who hit it first time but her strike went wide of the target.
On 24 minutes, Rangers’ Wilkinson struck an effort from just outside the box which sailed over Rachael Johnstone’s crossbar.
The women in maroon soon capitalised on their solid start to proceedings.
In the 29th minute Hearts hit Rangers on the counter attack as Sade Adamolekun sprinted through the middle of the park. She played a neat one-two with Carly Johns and found herself free in the box, before hitting a curled strike that nestled into the top right corner for 1-0.
The Jam Tarts came close to a second not long after. In the 35th minute, Monica Forsyth’s cross turned shot nearly caught out Fife in goal as the ball rattled off the frame of the goal.
Rangers had a huge opportunity to equalise just after. Mcaulay sprinted down the left flank and fired it across to Wilkinson, she took a touch before striking one on her right foot. Her effort hit the bar and was then cleared by Hearts.

Hearts looked to continue their good work in the second 45.
Lauren Wade got down the left and whipped in the cross aiming for Johns at the backpost, but Fife picked it out of the air to claim it for Rangers.
Up the other end, Rangers looked to hit on the break. Brogan Hay’s effort forced a good low stop from Johnstone to palm it away to safety for Hearts.
The hosts got their equaliser in the 73rd minute. The ball was fired to the back post and Wilkinson was on hand to power it home from close range for 1-1.
Just a few minutes later, Wilkinson made it a brace. Rangers' free kick on the left was fired to the front post and Wilkinson arrived again to force it over the line for 2-1.
Hearts fought back though, and conjured up a late equaliser.
Jenna Slattery’s free kick from the right was floated to the back post to find Lizzie Waldie. She fired the ball across the face of goal to find skipper Eilidh Shore who fired it home from close range into the bottom right corner for 2-2.
Overall, it was an inspired performance from the women in maroon as they secured an important point at Ibrox Stadium.
