Match Report: Partick Thistle 0-5 Hearts Women

28 September 2025

Hearts claimed a comfortable 5-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Petershill Park on Sunday.

The Jambos went into the break at 0-0, but following Georgia Timms’ curled strike in the 64th minute, the floodgates opened up.

Carly Johns and Jenna Slattery scored a brace each to ensure that Hearts left Glasgow with all three points.

Eva Olid made three changes from last weekend’s league defeat against Glasgow City.

Jess Husband, Georgia Hunter and Joely Andrews all returned to the starting lineup.

Hearts began the match on the front foot in the sunny conditions in Glasgow.

In the 9th minute, there was some good linkup play between Georgia Timms and Joely Andrews in and around the penalty area, as Timms swung in a cross looking for Johns at the back post, but Thistle goalkeeper Jeni Currie claimed it in goal for the hosts.

The women in maroon found it difficult to break down Partick Thistle’s defence in the first 45, despite dominating the majority of the possession.

In the 30th minute, Andrews found midfielder Eilidh Shore who hit one first time at the edge of the box, but her effort was straight at Currie.

Shore had another decent opportunity in the 37th minute as she got a strike away on the spin, but wasn’t able to trouble Currie.

Half-time: Partick Thistle 0-0 Hearts

The Jam Tarts looked to turn the screw in the second 45 to make the breakthrough.

In the 49th minute, Shore whipped in a fizzing low cross from the right and Timms swung a boot at it, but her effort was blocked by the Jags defence.

The striker found the opening goal on 64 minutes.

Johns played a great ball forward to Timms in space who drove to the edge of the box and hit a strike on her right foot which curled away from Currie into the bottom left corner for 1-0.

In the 74th minute, Hearts doubled their advantage. Jenna Slattery came off the bench to score a fantastic floated free kick into the top left corner for 2-0.

With ten to go, Johns got in on the act. The ball was whipped to the back post and Johns nodded past Currie from close range for 3-0.

On 81 minutes, Johns had her initial effort saved by Currie from close range, and the ball fell kindly for Slattery who struck one into the bottom right corner for 4-0.

Just a few minutes later, Hearts made it five. Timms hit another curled effort looking for the far corner which Currie saved, but Johns was in the right place at the right time to fire home for 5-0.

The Jambos got back to winning ways as they went on to pick up three points at Petershill Park.
