
Match Report: Hearts Women 7-0 Montrose
05 October 2025It was a comfortable afternoon for Hearts Women as they defeated Montrose 7-0 to progress to the next round of the Sky Sports Cup.
Carly Johns, Georgia Hunter, Georgia Timms, Kayla Jardine and Jenna Slattery all got on the scoresheet as the Jambos secured the victory at Oriam on Sunday.
Eva Olid made three changes from the 5-0 win over Partick Thistle last weekend.
Jenna Slattery, Kayla Jardine and Keri Halliday returned to the starting XI.
The women in maroon dominated in the first half as they held the majority of possession and penned Montrose back in their own half.
It wasn’t long until Hearts found their opener. In the 5th minute, Erin Husband played a fantastic through ball to split the Montrose defence. She found striker Carly Johns who kept her composure to fire past Ava Easdon into the bottom left corner for 1-0.
The attacker made it a brace in the 10th minute. She was played clean through on goal once again, and coolly slotted past Easdon for 2-0.
In the 21st minute, captain Georgia Hunter made it three. Kayla Jardine floated her free kick into the box from the left, Jenna Slattery swung a boot at it, and the ball fell kindly for Hunter who fired home into the bottom left corner for 3-0.
Georgia Timms got in on the act before the break. On 42 minutes, the striker was played in behind and curled one into the bottom right corner, giving Easdon no chance.

The Jambos looked to continue their good work in the second 45.
Midfielder Kayla Jardine made sure of that, as she made it six. In the 48th minute, Eilidh Shore fizzed the ball across the face of goal and Jardine arrived at the back post to fire home for 5-0.
In the 51st minute, captain Georgia Hunter grabbed her second of the afternoon. The corner was swung in from the left and Hunter rose the highest at the back post to power her header home for 6-0.
Jenna Slattery made it seven in the 78th minute. The midfielder dribbled to the edge of the area before hitting a curled strike on her right foot which nestled into the bottom left corner for 7-0.
Ultimately, it was a resounding victory for Hearts as they march on into the next stage of the Sky Sports Cup.
