Tale of the tape
Undoubtedly last season's surprise package, County battled back from a ten-match winless run at the start of the campaign to ending it with a well-deserved top six finish. Malky Mackay underlined his managerial credentials by getting a tune out of a County team that held on to their Premiership status by the skin of it's teeth in the 20/21 season.
This fine form was certainly boosted by the form of Regan Charles-Cook - the English attacker blossomed under Mackay to sign off from Scottish football as the top flight's top marksman with 13 league goals to his name. A summer transfer to Belgium followed, with a clear need to address RCC's departure.
Closer to home; we all know how special last season was down Gorgie way. Robbie Neilson's men sewed up third in style, whilst also making a Scottish Cup final and securing European football for the club for the first time in six years.
