The Club is delighted to announce the signing of Mariana Speckmaier, who joins from Durham FC on a one-year deal for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and Scottish FA approval.
The 28-year-old, Venezuelan internationalist scored four goals in 17 matches in WSL2 last season and has also enjoyed spells with Melbourne City, Wellington Phoenix and Washington Spirit.
Mariana now joins the Champions and becomes Andy Thomson’s third summer signing, following Jenny Smith and Erin Rennie both sealing a return to the club as preparations continue for a UWCL Qualifier and an SWPL title defence.
“I'm really excited," Mariana told Hearts TV.
"It's a new experience for me so I'm looking forward to seeing what this league brings. I heard only good things really. An amazing team and club culture, which is very important to me.
“After coming off the season they had last year, it was really exciting and with Champions League as well, it was hard to say no. So far so good, the girls have been great and meeting all the staff has been really nice as well.”
