Kingsley: Confidence Is High

23 February 2024

Stephen Kingsley believes Hearts are in a good place, both physically and mentally, ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Rangers in Glasgow.

The Jambos return to Ibrox for the second time this season after being narrowly edged out by two late goals in a 2-1 defeat back in October.

Having since assembled an impressive 12-game unbeaten run, including a 2-0 win over Celtic at Parkhead, Stephen says the Jambos travel to Govan ready to compete.

“The atmosphere is always good when we go to Ibrox,” he told the media ahead of the game.

“We’ve got a lot of experience within our dressing room for dealing with that, so the boys are used to it. We got a great result against Celtic at Parkhead not long ago – so it’s one we’ll look to replicate at Ibrox.

“We know it will be a challenge, they’re on a great run of form, but so are we. We’ve got a game plan and we want to be on the right side of these small margins. No matter what happens, we’re going to stick together.

“We always have belief, but we’re undoubtedly boosted by the fact that confidence is so high just now. We can deal with a lot of different situations: we’ve came back from a few goals down, for example, and shown great mentality.

“We’re going to need all that for tomorrow and we can tap into it for the week ahead with the big run of games we’ve got. We can perform at these venues and deal with the challenges it poses.

“We’ll take heart from our last performance at Ibrox, and try to use that experience to help us get a positive one.”
