10 October 2025It’s been a successful week so far for Jambos representing their countries on international duty.
James Wilson bagged a hat-trick in 53 minutes as Scotland U21s ran riot against Gibraltar U21s at Dens Park. The Young Scots won 12-0 on the night to register their first three points of their UEFA U21 European Qualifying campaign. Hearts teammate Liam McFarlane was an unused substitute, as was on-loan midfielder Macaulay Tait. Scotland continue their campaign away to Azerbaijan on Tuesday.
Craig Gordon’s return to the full Scotland squad saw him named amongst the substitutes in last night’s superb 3-1 win at home to Greece. Scotland sit pretty in Group C of World Cup qualifying, level on points with Denmark. Scotland entertain Belarus at Hampden on Sunday.
Landry Kabore added to his cap collection with an appearance off the bench in Burkina Faso’s CAF World Cup qualifying win away to Sierra Leone on Wednesday. Burkina Faso are out in front in second place in their group, on the cusp of advancing to the second qualifying round. They play Ethiopia at home on Sunday.
Finally, Cammy Devlin will be hoping to add to his four Australia caps when the Socceroos face Canada in a friendly just after midnight tonight. Australia have already qualified for the World Cup finals next year, and after this friendly match in Montreal, they take on USA in another friendly, in Colorado, in the early hours of Wednesday.
