Evie’s Journey: From Hearts Innovation Centre to Global Impact

17 September 2025

Evie first joined the Heart of Midlothian Innovation Centre for the Fans of the Future Club run jointly with Club Principal Partner, Stellar Omada. She was introduced to the world of digital design, coding, and teamwork and worked alongside Stellar Omada’s industry experts.

Evie demonstrated great creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills whilst designing and developing an app designed to improve supporters match day experience, building confidence and sparking a passion for STEM. Like every student in that programme, Evie left with new skills and a renewed ambition to pursue opportunities in science, technology, and innovation.

Since then, Evie has gone on to shine as part of the Vega Racing team in F1 in Schools and continues to balance her academic success with sporting excellence in netball.

Her journey reflects the way in which skills developed at the Innovation Centre can open doors, not just in STEM, but in leadership, collaboration, and resilience across all areas of life.

Now, Evie is preparing for an extraordinary new chapter: an eight-month gap year in Ghana with Project Trust. By applying the curiosity, confidence, and creativity nurtured by Hearts and Stellar Omada in the Innovation Centre, she is stepping onto a global stage to make a positive difference.

Evie’s story is a powerful reminder that the Innovation Centre’s partnership  with Stellar Omada is much more than learning today. It is about inspiring futures, opening pathways, and empowering young people to change the world.

Evie has embarked on a series of fundraising initiatives to support her programme in Ghana.  More information can be found here.

Ainsley Carnarvon, Head of the Innovation Centre, said:

The partnership between the Innovation Centre and Stellar Omada is a powerful demonstration of how collaboration between education and industry can inspire real change.

By combining industry expertise with a space for fostering creativity and learning, the Innovation Centre is equipping young people with skills that are not only relevant but transformative. This collaboration shows the true value of bridging the gap between learning and the workplace, opening opportunities that young people would not otherwise have.

Evie’s journey is a prime example of this impact, demonstrating the lasting benefits that come when young people learn alongside industry leaders like Stellar Omada."

Colin Frame, Managing Director of Stellar Omada, commented:

"Our partnership with the Hearts Innovation Centre is a perfect example of what can happen when you invest in the next generation.

Evie's journey demonstrates the true power of equipping young people with the skills, confidence and mindset they need to make a real impact on the world, whether that's in STEM initiatives or in the community."
