Haymarket Remembrance Service

31 October 2023
The annual Remembrance Sunday Service will be held at the Heart of Midlothian War Memorial at Haymarket on Sunday, November 12th.

Conducted by FA Chaplain Mark Fleming, the service will be attended by members of the first-team, women’s team, reserve team, coaching staff and Board of Directors.

The service will commence at 10.45am sharp and conclude at 11.20am, at which point members of the public will be invited to lay wreaths next to the War Memorial.

Orders of Service will be distributed on the day, please click here to view the Order of Service online. The service will be filmed and streamed live on Facebook.

All attendees are politely requested by Heart of Midlothian Football Club and Police Scotland to gather in Morrison Street, where loudspeakers will broadcast the service. We specifically request that people do not congregate at the corner of Grosvenor Street or on the crossing at Dalry Road as the experience of the service is less than ideal from these vantage points. The road closure of Morrison St will be in effect from circa 9.30am until 12.00pm.

Please note a BSL interpreter will be at the service to support those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

We advise attendees with disabilities, to arrive early and gather in the accessible viewing area cordoned off at the corner of Dalry Road and Haymarket Terrace; please contact Keith Ferguson (keithferguson@homplc.co.uk) directly with any accessibility questions.

Please direct any general queries to HMFCRemembrance@homplc.co.uk

As we reported previously, plans are in progress for aesthetic improvements to be made to the island housing the Heart of Midlothian War Memorial, to further dignify the monument.  Allowing for other scheduled works being completed in this area, we anticipate this work to commence in the Spring of 2024.
