Hearts B manager Liam Fox praised his young sides attitude and application after the Wee Jambos ran out 3-0 winners against Tranent at Ainslie Park on Tuesday night.
A brace from Callum Sandilands had Hearts ahead at the break, before Makenzie Kirk wrapped up the three point shortly after the hour mark.
Speaking to the Official Hearts website, Fox said:
“I’m really pleased with the lads. Their attitude and application both in and out of possession was really good.
“Tranent are an established side with some real experience and quality in their side so I’m really happy to take not just a result, but a really good performance from tonight as well.
“This is a young group. There will always be ups and downs. But, since I’ve come in, they have given me everything and that is all you can ask for as a coach.
“You’re going to make mistakes, but we went to a difficult venue at the weekend and got three points and we’ve come here tonight and got another three points.
“We have another game at Ainslie Park on Friday, which will be another tough test for us, so it’s back to work tomorrow and get ready for Friday."
