Forrest keen to kick on

09 May 2025

Alan Forrest is hoping his goal in Saturday's victory over Ross County will help both himself and Hearts perform well in the final three matches of the season.

The winger was brought in from the start by interim manager Liam Fox and Forrest admits it was a good feeling to reward that faith with a goal and all-round positive performance.

Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend's match against Motherwell, Forrest said:

“It felt good personally for me to get a start, to come back in, because I haven't played a lot recently, so it was good for me to get a start, get the win and then obviously for me, score as well.

“It's difficult when you're not playing. Every player wants to play, so it's just about keeping yourself right off the park and training. That's what I try to do as best I can, just wait for the opportunity and luckily, I got that on Saturday.

“We've won on Saturday, so now it’s about finishing the season strong. We're not where we want to be in terms of finishing in the league, so for us it's about finishing strong and finishing as high up as we can.

“You want to get the goals and get the assists and get back up to the numbers that I produced in the last campaign. For me, that's the aim, it's just about contributing as best I can.”
