Danni Returns

02 August 2023

Eva Olid continues to bolster her squad for the new SWPL campaign with the signing of Danni McGinley, who returns to the club on a one-year contract.

The forward joins the Jambos having spent the last four years at Dundee United, scoring 60 goals during her time in Tangerine

McGinley began her career at Jeanfield Swifts, where she scored over 100 goals in three and half years, before making the move to fellow Scottish side, Forfar Farmington, where she helped them gain promotion to SWPL1.

McGinley again tasted success in 2019, when she helped Hearts secure promotion back to SWPL1, by scoring in the final match of the season, under the lights at Tynecastle.

Danni then joined Dundee United, where she enjoyed promotion to the top-flight for the third time.

Danni has broken multiple records during her three seasons at Tannadice, including becoming the clubs highest goalscorer.

McGinley enjoyed arguably her most successful campaign last season, not only was she United’s top goalscorer for the campaign, she played a vital part in helping them preserve their Premier League status.

Danni now returns to Tynecastle and becomes Eva Olid’s seventh summer signing.

Welcome back to Hearts, Danni!

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid, said: “I’m delighted Danni has agreed to join Hearts.

“As soon as we heard she was potentially available, we did everything we could to make the move happen.

“Danni is a proven goalscorer in Scotland and she showed that with a fantastic season last year.

“Danni is extremely determined to prove herself at the highest level and I know with that attitude, she will be a brilliant addition to the team.”
