Craig: We're capable of Swiss result

18 August 2022

The skipper is set to lead the Jambos out in St. Gallen tomorrow for the first leg of our Europa League play-off round, and backed his teammates to get the right result when we lock horns with the Swiss champions tomorrow evening.

“When I came back, one of the things I wanted to achieve was to take Hearts back to European football,” he told the press in his pre-match media conference.

“We did it at the first possible chance of asking, so to be here is great. It’s exciting for everybody – you can see the sort of atmosphere that’s being generated. You can feel it from the players, the staff, and the supporters. That good feeling has been building around the club for a while now.

“We’re ready to go: we’ve done our preparations. We’re excited to go out there and give it our best shot.

“I think we’re going to have to dig in, but we’ve got players of quality and we have to be difficult to play against and difficult to play through. We’ll look to try and win the game and take the best possible result back to Tynecastle.

“We’re going to concentrate on ourselves. If we implement the game plan, we give ourselves a chance.”
