Claudio loving life at Hearts
26 September 2025Claudio Braga says he’s loving life at Hearts, alongside his new strike partner, Lawrence Shankland.
The Jambos prepare to welcome Falkirk to Gorgie this Saturday, fresh off the back of a special afternoon at Ibrox, the biggest stadium the Portuguese forward believes he has ever played in.
“It was amazing. For me, it was the biggest stadium that I ever played in, so it was very cool to play there. Knowing that Hearts had not won there in a long, long time makes it even more special that we won there and the way that we won. I think everything was perfect in the game.”
On Lawrence Shankland, Claudio continued: “It's been very good [playing with him] because, of course, for me, he’s a player with such good qualities. I think we complete each other really well. So I try to learn from him. What I'm worst at; he's way better at.
“So I just try to learn with him a lot. He's also a very good team player, which I like, before I came here, I wasn't sure, because I didn't know him. But since I came here, he's been helping me a lot.
“So that's so important to have that type of guy playing with you and, of course, with his qualities and with his past and everything. It's really good to play with him. He helped me a lot and hopefully, I can help him a little bit also.”
Having already established himself as not only a fans favourite, but a popular member in the dressing room, Braga admits he’s excited for what’s still to come in maroon, adding ‘everything’ about the club attracted him to Hearts.
“Everything, to be honest. Of course, the professionalism of the club, everything around the club. The club itself is a big club that fight for big things. As a player, that's what every player wants to be part of, a team that fights for things and has good goals.
“All the projects here excite me. And then when I came here, I was well welcomed by everybody, so that helped me a lot to settle in.”
