Claudio Cuts: Headlines

15 August 2025

Claudio Braga's talents aren't just confined to the pitch - our Portuguese marksman also provides a decent haircut too.

Self-taught in line-ups and fades, Hearts TV sat in the barber's chair for a candid conversation with Claudio about his early years in Porto, initial success in Norway, and settling into his new life at Tynecastle.

Claudio Cuts is available to watch for free on Hearts TV.

On learning to cut hair

"When I got to Norway, the price was crazy, it was like 50 or 60 euros to cut hair. And when I got there, I was like; 'nah, I don't have the money for this'! So I just started doing a little bit of a fade, just so it looks a little bit fresher, and then slowly get the beard for myself.

"I then tried one of my friends that lived with me. Then I start cutting him every week because he asked me. It's something that I like to do, but I wouldn't say that I'm good, just something that I like to do."

On growing up in a football-daft family

"To be honest, we all played football. My father played football all his life. Never professional. My older brother played football all his life and we always played together.

"My mother always cared more about school, and I thank her for that! Even my sister plays football, she's 18 now and she plays centre-back, likes to tackle a lot."

On his decision to sign for Moss in Norway

"What convinced me in the end was a conversation that I had with my father and my agent. It was about what the worst case scenario would be; you just go there, and if you don't like it, you can come back.

"I would still be playing in the third league in Portugal, and that would be the worst case scenario. So, yeah, I just tried it and it paid off a lot."

On his family visiting Tynecastle for the first time

"So my stepmum and my father and my sister, first thing we did before we came to the stadium was to go to the Clubstore. My father and my stepmother were just kind of turning away and they started crying. Like turning away so I don't see. And then my sister started to get emotional also.

"So we all like, you know, these movies that you all hug! It was a good moment. So I think they also conquered this, not only me, because they did a lot of efforts when I was younger to get where I am now."

On Radio Braga

"To be honest, it's crazy. It doesn't get out of my mind, that song.

"Because in the last game, I didn't hear it. And I was like, I need to score to hear it. But when they started singing it, like, the first minutes, I thought- damn, this is crazy!

"My thoughts were like, the music is two minutes, so everybody will only know the last part. And then when they started singing the whole song...."
