Christian's plan of attack

19 June 2025

Christian Borchgrevink is now officially a Hearts player and he’s already looking forward to putting his skills to the test in the environment that is Scottish football.

The Norwegian right-back agreed to join the Jambos from Valerenga earlier in the year and today completes his move with the opening of the transfer window.

26-year-old Christian is eagerly anticipating meeting his new teammates and getting pre-season started, with one eye on the upcoming 2025/26 campaign, and showing Hearts fans what he’s made of.

Speaking to Hearts TV, he said; “I think it's a physical league, especially compared to the Norwegian one. The pace, it goes fast, it's a transitional game.

“The Norwegian football is played mostly on artificial grass and lately it's been much more technical, sometimes with slow pace.

“I'm looking forward to it as well because I can enjoy a bit of a scrap, a bit of a duel. Maybe it's going to take a while to get used to, but then again, I think that kind of football suits me well as well.

“I think the biggest part of my game or what I enjoy the most is attacking, like many others. But I like to go run up and down the wing and then I enjoy crossing with my right foot as well.

“Passing and crossing, I would say I enjoy the final third, giving that last pass or setting up my team, I think, in good areas.

“Hopefully getting into those positions as often as possible and then deliver from there.”
