Aron's Hearts switch

02 September 2026

Heart of Midlothian is delighted to confirm the signing of Aron Benjaminsen from Víkingur.

The Faroese youngster joins on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee, subject to Scottish FA approval and international clearance.

Considered one of the most promising young talents in Faroese football, the winger was training with the Skála ÍF first team, when scouted by Norwegian side Kristiansund at the age of 16.

The move saw Aron enter a professional environment for the first time and after making his debut in a Norwegian Cup match against Melhus, in April 2025, he returned to the Faroes, joining Víkingur in March 2026.

With that experience in Norway under his belt, Benjaminsen began to thrive and in 20 league matches this season, he racked up 17 goal contributions, eight goals and nine assists, from Vikingur’s 30 league goals this campaign.

As well as his domestic form, Aron featured and scored in each leg of Vikingur’s UEFA Conference League Qualifier against Stjarnan of Iceland.

His impressive season caught the eye of the national team and having already been capped at U17s and U19s level, Aron has now received three caps for the Faroe Islands U21s.

Considered a direct and pacey winger, the 18-year-old now makes the move to Gorgie, where he’ll pull on the famous maroon jersey and begin the next chapter of an exciting football journey.
