Beni Baningime is looking forward to getting back to Tynecastle this Saturday, following a hard-fought draw in Paisley during the week.
The men in maroon had to come from behind twice to ensure a share of the spoils, thanks to strkes from Lawrence Shankland Claudio Braga and the midfielder, who came so close to opening the scoring in the first half, praised the character of his teammates.
Speaking to Hearts TV, Baningime said:
“St Mirren is a hard place to come and obviously, we’re disappointed not get the three points, but I thought the character of the boys from going down twice and to come back and get a draw in this place, it's a decent result and I think we definitely need to back it up with a win and then it will look like a better draw.
“The next few games are at home, so that's really good. It's a great opportunity to get six points and as I said, this draw, it will look a lot better. Dundee have not played this week and we have, so obviously there's a bit of freshness. I think for us mentally, we're going to have to make sure we recover and also the boys that have been on the bench, are definitely going to be needed for sure."
With three games in six days for the Jambos, head coach Derek McInnes may look to make changes to the starting 11, having named the same side for the previous six matches and Baningime insists the depth in the current squad is strong.
“We’ve definitely got squad depth, we've got great players on the bench who are not playing, but we're going to need every single person in the team, so I'm excited for this challenge.
“Dundee are a very organised team, so for us, we're going to have to make sure that we move the ball very quickly and try to test the keeper and test the defenders as much as possible.”
