Beni reflects on Spanish run out

02 July 2025

Beni Baningime says Hearts got valuable minutes under their belt in the Jambos' pre-season draw with St. Mirren.

The midfielder's first half strike cancelled out Evan Mooney's opener as the men in maroon played out a 1-1 draw with Stephen Robinson's Buddies.

Revealing that he's been working on his shooting whilst in camp, Beni hopes to keep it going as our pre-season schedule ramps up.

"Yes, the boys have been telling me to shoot more," he told Hearts TV.

"Even last season, there were certain people telling me to shoot a lot more. I'm glad that paid off a little bit, even though it was a deflection.

"It was on target, I think, so I'll take that as my goal! Camp has been good.

"Very, very tough. We've been doing a lot of triple sessions, training in the morning, gym and then coming back in. So, in terms of fitness, I think we're probably the fittest that we have been.

So, that's been good. Legs are a bit tired, but we're nearly there."
