Beith appointed B Team Head Coach

21 November 2024

Heart of Midlothian is delighted to confirm the appointment of Angus Beith as the club’s B Team Head Coach.

Angus, who oversaw B Team matters in recent weeks following previous Head Coach Liam Fox’s move to the first-team coaching staff, becomes the side’s Head Coach on a permanent basis.

28-year-old Angus is a product of the Hearts Football Academy. A standout at youth level and capped for Scotland U19s, he made his senior debut for the Jambos in 2014 before enjoying loan spells in Leagues One and Two. Following a move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2018, Angus was forced to retire from his playing career at the age of 23 due to a hip injury.

He cut his coaching teeth with younger age groups at Oriam and at the club’s Balerno Performance School, while studying for a degree with the Open University.

Angus became B Team assistant coach this summer, working alongside then Head Coach Liam, and formed part of the first team’s interim management team prior to Neil Critchley’s appointment.

He now takes the reins of the B Team as Head Coach with the side currently sitting just below mid table in the Lowland League.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Angus said; “I’m very pleased to be given the honour and opportunity to lead the B Team.

“I have a good relationship with the squad having coached many of them at youth level and that familiarity has only heightened after working closely with them this season.

“I feel well-placed to know what it takes to make the transition from youth sides into the first team, having made that same journey myself as a young player.

“My focus now is helping these players to reach their potential and I will put everything into it.”
