Awards hat-trick for loan players

05 May 2025

Three Hearts academy graduates out on loan have scored a hat-trick of Young Player of the Year awards at their respective clubs.

Macaulay Tait, Liam McFarlane, and Finlay Pollock all scooped the prizes at their clubs’ end of season award ceremonies.

Macaulay has been a smash hit at Livingston since joining in January, pushing Falkirk all the way until the last day in the Championship title race, with Premiership promotion still up for grabs via the play-offs.

Goalkeeper Liam McFarlane is enjoying an impressive stint between the sticks at East Fife, and he too could look to clinch promotion, with the Fifers in contention for a place in next season’s League One after finishing second in League Two.

Elsewhere in Fife, Finlay Pollock won Raith Rovers’ Young Player of the Year prize after a barnstorming season at Stark’s Park – notching important goals along the way before his season was prematurely ended by injury.

All three have also received Scotland Under-21s calls this season, with Finlay and Liam making their debuts.

Congratulations to all three from everyone at Hearts.
