U20s suffer Highland defeat

14th October 2015

Hearts U20s lost 3-1 to Inverness CT on Tuesday night.

Hearts U20s succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Inverness CT in the Development League on Tuesday night.

Despite dominating the match for large periods, the Wee Jambos were unable to make their chances count against an effective home side. An Iain Vigurs free-kick put the hosts ahead on 21 minutes, before Andrew Macrae doubled their lead six minutes before half-time.

Danny Lopez then added a third just a few minutes after the restart, before Hearts’ Robbie Buchanan pulled one back shortly after. Hearts – who named Gavin Reilly and Arnaud Djoum in their starting line-up – dominated proceedings for the remainder of the game but the home side held firm to secure the points.

The Wee Jambos will look to bounce back next Monday night when they take on St Johnstone at Ochilview.

Hearts: Mason, L Smith, Baur, Howlett-Mundle, L Henderson, I Smith (Morrison 62 ), McKirdy (Baxter 85 ), Djoum, Zanatta, Buchanan, Reilly.
