Robbie: Best yet

25th September 2021

Robbie Neilson believes his side produced their best performance of the season to sweep aside Livingston today and maintain their unbeaten start to the league campaign.

Goals from Michael Smith, Liam Boyce and Alex Cochrane ensured that the Jambos would take all three points from a dominant performance against Livi at Tynecastle Park.

The win extends Hearts’ unbeaten run to all seven cinch Premiership games of the 2021/22 campaign so far, and the manager believes his players got exactly what they deserved.

Speaking to Hearts TV, he said: “I’m delighted. I thought we played really well today. It was probably one of our best performances of the season.

“We passed the ball really well. We knew coming up against Livingston that it’s always a tough team but they’ve had three games in six days, so if we took the tempo to them then we’d have a chance of winning it.

“Today we got what we deserved from the game. We potentially could’ve scored more goals with the possession we had. We didn’t create that many clear-cut chances but when we did, we took them.”
